CFD

Numerical fluid mechanics (CFD - computational fluid dynamics) is a powerful tool to solve the fluid flow equations (Navier-Stokes, Euler and / or Potential). CFD-Simulation is a efficient and budget-friendly method to simulate a broad spectrum of fluid flow processes. Project examples of numerical fluid flow simulations performed for customers of MORPHOTEC are:

CFD Simulation of a Turbine Wheel
CFD Simulation of a Turbine Wheel
  • Numerical fluid flow simulations of turbochargers with adjustable vanes to improve the efficiency factor.
  • CFD-Simulation of flow around vehicles with the goal of optimizing pressure coefficients.
  • Simulation of flow processes (Pressure lost, flow separation, near-wall heat transfer etc.) of exhaust gas systems and cooling circuits.
  • CHT-Simulation (Conjugate Heat Transfer) of an electronic high-power resistor to calculate and optimize the temperature field.
  • Moldflow-Analyses of injection mould cavities to calculate the required pressure, melt shear stress, weld seams etc.

Our CAE-Serviceportfolio comprises the following fields

  • Numerical fluid flow simulations (CFD) with
    • stationary and transient processes
    • incompressible and compressible fluids
    • laminar and turbulent flow
    • multi-phase fluid processes
    • phase transitions
    • mixture of mutliple fluids / components
    • heat transfer (conduction, convection and radiation)
